Using a computer fan a reasonable paint shaker can be made. A more powerful motor would be welcome

Spectacular! You've demonstrated the simplest yet most effective Shaker design of all! Most people including myself, think and see stupid simple & kind of cool, failing to see the real value in your video!

For all others, replace the small PC fan with any AC or DC motor, of any size.. preferably of which you have speed control, (via the voltage to the motor..) then attach a round gear/disc to the motor shaft, and drill a hole towards the outer edge of that disc. ( if you start with a wider diameter gear/disc you can pre-drill holes beginning at outer edge, one after another, towards the center shaft.
Depending how far away from the motor shaft will determine the distance in which the Shaker will move back and forth. As for the rest of the details are designed they need no explanation as it's obvious from the video.

I saw some very cool Shaker videos such as tearing down and using an old washing machine (which I never thought of but has the built-in motion, think of the agitation wash cycle) and can handle pretty substantial weights,
Another cool design was utilizing sawzall reciprocating saws, already have the motion of back and forth, and available for as little as 20 bucks online or from harbor freight is a cheap optic..

but for somebody such as myself who wants to DIY it all the way and or has all the different parts on hand i e different size motors etc this video demonstrates this design and its simplest of form and that is the value in this video in which I haven't seen in any other DIY paint Shaker videos as of yet.
I to say this video should have a million views and likes Just as mentioned on the washing machine shaker video comments (watch via searching for mayhem shaker) yet only having had 6, 000 views. Just acquire a free broken washing machine and some time tearing it down to result in a biggest badass strongest diy Shaker, I was impressed and runner up to that the design demonstrated in this video is the way to go!
Again great Job showing your implementation of the best from scratch Shaker design!

I love this idea! Long time ago i've seen a machine with similar motion to shake the peel off from garlic🤓

The best thing is when the electro motor's rotation motion manages via transfer to rectilinear motion with the help of an eccentric joint created on a medium-sized plastic gear (or as you will see in the next video) attach the "piston rod" to one wing of the computer cooling unit. Apart from the fact that the DIY "hobby paint shaker" assembled in this way is the simplest type among all DIY paint shakers, it will also stir your paint into a completely balanced paint mix, the way it is assembled from parts that can be found in every home. Definitely the most simple way, the best way to mix paint and the most reliable "device".

I know its a 5 year old video but I just watched it today. This is a great idea, for me it's really hard to shake my paints due to an injury.

Now i found a use for those gutted computer parts and that reminds me of that rod that came out of the piston on a steam locomotive to drive the wheel

Very cool! But maybe a little too gentle? Maybe add some steel ball bearings?

Máster, porque no envías el paso a paso de como lo fabricaste

Except in this case the fan wheel is the driving force instead of being the driven component

Just make a jig on a drill, sawzall, or jigsaw. Really anything you have that spins or reciprocates

Hmm. How long is that fan going motor going to last before burning out with that torque load restraining its RPM with current applied without a limiter? How are you current limiting and what are you sing as its DC power source?
