Things pointed out in the comments that I found interesting:
1. The clock that says 5.24 = 5/24 (May 24th) is also Yves' (Sooyoung) actual birth date! The cake had 9 candles = 9th member which is Yves. (That one flew over my head)

2. Yves was reading another book besides John Appleby's "Aphrodite Means Death". Check out Kain Matteusu comment for more info!

3. Completely forgot to talk about the strawberry which I think (and as plenty of you pointed out) is Chuu's actual fruit. The strawberry was a symbol for Venus/Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, because of its heart shapes and red colour.

just noticed- in one of the bus scenes, chuu is outside the bus struggling to keep up on a bike. this could signify how chuu feels like an outsider and is trying to keep up and fit in with the older, more mature girls. also note the symbolism of a BUS vs a BIKE- buses are associated with a teen's education/learning and growing up, whereas bikes are more commonly associated with children playing.

I don’t think Yves is ignoring Chuu. I think Yves can’t SEE Chuu until she bites the apple, making her enter Yves’ “world/universe.” I think what happens at the end supports this theory (Chuu not seeing HaSeul but HaSeul seeing Chuu) in order for Chuu to see HaSeul she should’ve never eaten the apple. (Messy but im trying) also I read the Little Match Girl story in elementary school ;-;

Personally, I think if we go by the possible "Yves was Vivi's crush in the flipped world" theory, then this makes Chuu Yeojin's frog-man. Not only does she wear a similar outfit, but there are scenes where the frog can be seen copying/constantly following Yeojin. Just like how Chuu is doing with Yves--I mean, boys/men also sometimes become infatuated with their own idols in their life too.
To me this makes more sense than Chuu simply just BEING Yeojin. Yves doesn't seem to have a counterpart in the flipped world, she is, however, in LOVE with someone from the flipped world.


Also, I was so happy when I found out Chuu really IS The Little Match Girl. When I watched her trailer I got that feeling, but I thought it was far-fetched! That was, until I watched the MV! Lol

I love this theory, mine is that the same way Yves represents Eve, Chuu represents Adam. In most of this mv they were both in Eden, and Yves was ignoring Chuu, perhaps because she was already wanting to leave. In the scene where Chuu is watching Yves from the outside, I believe Yves had already bit the apple and been cast out of Eden. Chuu, still in Eden, decided to follow her and then they could be together.

When Chuu bites the apple it turns red, meaning the apple matured. But this can also mean a reference that she also matured since before bitting it, she always used apples seen in the whole mv because of Yves. But after she did we can see strawberries meaning herself. I think this means she matured and found her own "personality" instead of always following Yves' one with her apples. Anyways this may be just part of her visions and actually she's still the same little girl who idolices Yves when she wakes up... maybe?

I may be a little late to the party, and idk if any of the comments mentioned this - but I noticed that sometimes Yves looked at Chuu, signifying that maybe she went between earth and Eden a few times before properly falling - maybe due to her obsession with Yves?
Also, the apple turned red as Chuu are it, perhaps signifying both her fall and her becoming mature - like you said a green apple was unripe?

I saw a theory in a spanish-group that post a photo that bbc post when Loona1/3 came out, explaining the name of the unit; "3 (Heejin, Hyunjin and Haseul), / (Yeojin) and 1 (ViVi)" [The real LOONA 3/1].
So now, when we have OEC and Yves with Chuu the LOONAline came like this:

LOONA3/1 > ODD EYE CIRCLE < 1/3ANOOL

Making OEC the "glass-vision like" (idk how to say it in english) that reflects the first and the last unit.

Now, the "1" of the first unit (ViVi) gets reflected to he last unit "1" that is Yves (we just saw it in the Yves' video, when ViVi's appearance). But, in the first unit we have 5 members and in the last 4. What happened?.

It sounds crazy but you know that YeoJin and HaSeul are so connected like a mom-daughter relationship and they get reflected as one member "Chuu", the child-look girl (YeoJin) and connected with HaSeul at the end of the video like Yves and ViVi.

That means that the next gril will be connected with Hyunjin, probably the "tiger" that we saw in the map of Girl Front video. And the last girl could be connected with HeeJin.

I hope you all understand this, my english isn't good enough but I want to share this with all the english-speakers.

ok so me and my friend talked about this mv and she told me someone in twitter have a theory that LOONA is living in some kind of time loop. i don't actually knows how they interpreted(?) it but here's my theory about this + the thories i've read in various sources so far:

the events that took place in Heejin's up until Vivi's MV were chronological, and all of them (LOONA 1/3) are in this/our world, that's why we can see them in various cities across the world.

But then somehow Vivi (in her Everyday I Need You MV) found and brought JinSoul here, even though OEC isn't supposed to be here (a lot of people thought OEC are like 'the guardians' of all LOONA members). That also somehow made KimLip & Choerry came too. They had to 'activate' their own odd eye first before they can gather and be guardians again. That's why in their solo mv's they each danced to eclipse, sang in the rain and ate the cherry. Then in the Girl Front MV they met and then started to find other members.

Back to the timeloop theory. Well now, when OEC came and gathers is the time that i think when the timeloop loops. Just like a circle/the mobius strip, the time made a circle and made a new chronological order that is the opposite of LOONA 1/3 time. an easy example if you're confused is Heejin's MV is at 12 AM, while Vivi's MV is at 12 PM. but when we start 12 AM again (which is Yves' MV) it's actually the same time with Vivi's MV. and (i guess) the last member's MV will took place at the same time with Heejin's MV. so it's like the clock is going backwards, but it's still chronological- in a new and opposite way. and the 12 AM of the last sub-unit's time started when Yves came down from Eden; where the last 4 members is supposed to be.

That's why people say Yves' and Vivi's rolling skate scene in Yves' MV is the same with the scene of Vivi's Everyday I Love You MV, because it happens at the same time- but with different perspectives. And then after Yves left heaven, Chuu tries to follow her (in Heart Attack MV)- and that happens at the same time with The Carol's events. Yeojin's time have somehow passed between Yves's leaving Eden and Chuu trying to leave as well. And why did Haseul know Chuu while Chuu doesn't? I think it's because Chuu just fell down from Eden and now confused about the new world (aka ours) just like how OEC was.


Well that was so long HAHA kudos for everyone who reads all the way down!! I edited this because i just realized i didn't came up with all if those theories myself but i've read it from lots if places like YT videos & comments, Twitter and Instagram! so yeah just summing up what i agree on so far. *ADDITIONAL THEORIES ABOUT TO BE ADDED*
Isn’t it also possible that Chuu is the girl running around OEC? It could be another case of BBC thinking Chuu was going to be the 9th girl much like how Jinsoul thought she was going to be the 6th girl but ended up being the 7th despite appearing in ViVi’s mv. Because Yves moved to the company back in October and blew everyone out of the water. Chuu could have been the girl running around OEC in loonatic and hanging out with them on LoonaTV during the max and match era.

I’m still trying to figure out how and why some of the girls are invisible to each other. Because right now, the loonaverse apparently takes place in two parallel worlds, the 1/3 one and the OEC one, with eden being a potential other world or some sort of afterlife like heaven (since the last unit have to fall from eden in order to join loona) and right now, it seems that the four remaining girls may be landing on different sides (with Chuu landing on the 1/3 side and Yves landing on the OEC side since she interacted with Choerry and a pre Android ViVi ((who looks as if she was originally from the OEC side)) ). My main point about the invisible girls is this: is girl 11 or 12 going to be revealed to be the one who pulled out Jinsoul’s earphone in sweet crazy love? Or will it be revealed in the unit who does this?
(One final note about the invisible girls, I think choerry is the only visible girl since she’s had the most interactions with members, with Kim lip and jinsoul in her subunit, haseul and yeojin in LCM, yves giving her the apple, and trying to find Hyunjin at the Ferris wheel (which was the last place we saw hyunjin via the sometime mv). The only one she hasn’t interacted with is heejin (and Chuu of course). Also I think jinsoul said in an interview that Choerry was the link to connecting loona. (And back to the world things, I just remembered that choerry was probably originally from 1/3 world before being pulled by jinsoul in OEC) )

And one final comment overall. If Chuu is the little match girl, does that make Haseul the grandmother since she’s the one who wakes her up? Just mentioning it for funzies since at this point she’s the mother of the group, but what if it’s symbolic of something? Like her introducing Chuu to the world of Loona?

i have some comments that are not so much related to theories on the loonaverse, but metatextual stuff that i think is interesting as well.

re: your point on at 7:58 about illusion and reality: it can further be supported by the scene at 6:30 where yves looks into the camera - both the mv camera and presumably chuu's camera too. there's likely a deliberate point being made about the interpretation/digestion of reality through a camera lens. i'd like to suggest you take a look at John Berger's 'Ways of Seeing' if you're interested in the topic.

ALSO. regarding 8:29, your point about chuu copying yves: i find it notable that she is watching a /video/ of yves, and then copying her. the camera that chuu uses is very clearly one of those 'bazooka cameras' used by k-fansites - chuu is 'consuming' the image of yves the way that fans consume kpop idols as a commodity, which... interestingly, chuu doesn't get to consume/eat her apple while it's green, and only after it's a red apple does she take a bite. later at 9:38, chuu chasing after yves on her bike... yeah, also reminiscent of fans chasing after idols from schedule to schedule.

10:13 - i believe the running around yves also ties in with the lyrics at that point in the mv which go "All of my standards are set to you / Like the moon spinning around the earth"

it's interesting how yves ignores chuu offering her the apple regardless of her style of approach (aggressively, shyly, on bended knee). and it's only when yves /takes/- takes the first bite of the apple that she gets what she wants (the hallucinations/visions of happiness with yves)... but wait, all these are only hallucinations, right- making it nearly a direct counterpoint to yves who in her mv boldly ate her apple (many apples, even...). i can't make sense of the relationship between yves' apple-eating-as-rebellion and chuu's but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ maybe you can make something out of it, if apples appear in the next mv.

From the moment we found that the last group kinda mirrors the first, I wondered if they would leave out a member since there's 5 in 1/3, but I think that Chuu mirrors both YeoJin and HaSeul, and that makes me very happy~ because of all the links you already mentioned to YeoJin, and the links to the Carol and HaSeul showing up, the December girls~ it's really cute actually :>

it's kinda making me sad how many people are insisting it's not a romantic (cough, love tho lol... ofc BBC themselves are unlikely to come out and say "yes it's big gay!!" but damn. It's not *serious* because it's a one sided infatuation, and Yves and Chuu clearly haven't actually interacted - so Chuu's currently just "in love" with the image of Yves. I've been there. So many people have. That doesn't mean it's not a romantic attraction ...it's just not a serious love, that stems from getting to truly know somebody. And I for one avidly believe that Chuu and Yves (and Vivi and hell anyone else who wants in) can develop that in time when they get the chance, uhuhu~ but yeah, like, while it's OBVIOUSLY about a crush and not like a relationship, it's. it's pretty damn gay. if you're feelin those lyrics about someone of the same gender? you're probably some kinda gay, LOL. regardless of what bbc say or even what they intended...

It's important to me because I think the theme of someone being in love with just the image of who they think someone is, without knowing the real person, is a really good lesson? I don't know why but I feel like this happenes because it's a form of punishment for leaving Eden, that or they wasted all their energy that they just pass out. Who knows? What if the stories for the 3rd subunit goes backwards? Coz of the whole mobius loop thing. Like Yves' video is the last event to occur chronologically? So maybe through the persistence of Chuu offering her apples to Yves she finally gives in and bite it.

oh my god you are like spot on with the little things to be noted in the video. good job honestly. i did a bit of looking too and here are just some things that i noticed as well:

8:19 where chuu peaks through a hole in the apple could be a reference to another work of rene which is the son of man

8:28 where she hugs the apple is then to 11:10 - 11:11 where she kicks the apple in frustration i suppose. clearly she has an agenda to make yves bite the green apple. but it confuses me as to why she would do that or maybe the apple is just a literal symbol for chuu's innocent "unripe" heart idk.

9:30 shows 9 candles possibly referring to yves

9:52 where yves is holding a phone with a peach colored case which is the color of chuu. also i've noticed that the clock in the practice/dance room seem to be stuck at 6:10 (approx.) so i also assume that time is frozen or time is disoriented.

also, one *unlikely* theory that i can suggest would be that one of the universe in this multiverse is actually Eden or heaven. in the context of the multiverse theory, then heaven or eden could be just be in earth and there would be things that would remain fundamentally consistent in every universe, but interestingly there would be a few things that are different in each universe.

my take on this: after haseul (who is an earthling lol) discovered the plane in iceland (that could possibly be a portal that allowed her to see different universes) she then is able to see eden.

yves (someone from eden/heaven) can also see through multiple universes because of the apple (similar to jinsoul's cherry).

the reason why chuu can't see haseul in the end was because she hasn't really bit the red apple per se. actually in the video you can assume that she *imagines that she was biting the red apple instead of the green apple that she has* but in the end where she was lying down in the snow, the apple stays green-- chuu is still stuck in one perspective of one universe which is Eden.
