Great review as always. As a sidenote, Leaf explains that after folding the double edge blade over, there are often two slightly curled ends. It is recommended to install the blade with the curled ends facing down for proper closure. 🙂

Using the Twig Thorn since 1 1/2 months and its my new daily razor. Insanely fast and close shaving. Only cut me once when i had a pimple

I usually use two razors when I shave. For my lip and chin, I use the Leaf Twig razor as it gets under my nose easier and does my chin with no cuts. For my cheeks and neck, I use my Merkur Futur for its more aggressive shave.

Mr. Geo. you were very clear in this review, but I only have experience with the Merkur 23c. I was wondering how the thorn compares to it. Is it much more aggressive? Ive tried some very cheap no brand safety razor once that were very harsh and irritating but it didn't really cut any closer. I'd like to cut closer but not be irritating.

Due to the Thorn razor I have noticed that I am buying less amount of blades as 1 blade last longer due to using half of the blade

I just shaved with the twig, was mind blown with positive reviews, didnt even know existence of the thorn. I literally butchered my face with twig, cuz i couldnt…; for the love of god shave off my beard.. and i usually shave with straight edge razors, didnt know what i was doing wrong.. turns out this is for thin hair… it should be written all over that this is not for thick beards. Now im left with butchered red face, probably ingrown hairs, cuz i did like 74 passes on each side 😄

Good review. I’ve tried the Twig and it is just way too mild. The Thorn works well with my coarse beard and can still be a daily driver. You typically go for that BBS pass on your cheeks. The way you shave, do you typically achieve a BBS on your neck too?

Geo what do you prefer over the Twig/Thorn or any of the Henson's ? i am searching for a perfect razor and so far the smoothest shave i ever had was with Henson AL-13 i also had zero nics with the Hennie . I just pruchased the thorn because of your videos and other Youtubers . My only issue with Henson is that angle but man it is smooth . I'll get the Thorn in a day or two and see for myself just wondered which one YOU preferred ? so far in the Safety Razor market i have the Henson al13, the Bevel, and the Leaf 3 blade . just tried the parker soloedge it did a great job but i was nic'd up pretty good

Would either of these be recommended for sensitive skin? I have a coarse beard but sensitive skin and I cannot find the right blade/razor.

Recommend either of these for an everyday shaver? Job requires it….super prone to ingrowns on neck with coarse hair.
