NVIDIA's RTX 50 series GPUs, with the flagship RTX 5090's 500W TDP and a 16-pin connector standard across the series, Intel's Arc A770 showing 93% game compatibility, and AMD's Radeon RX 7900 XT dropping to $649, highlight significant advancements and competitive pricing in the current GPU market.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series Power Specifications
NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs have some impressive power specifications. The flagship RTX 5090 is rumored to have a massive 500W TDP, making it one of the most power-hungry cards ever. The RTX 5080, a step down, will reportedly have a 350W TDP, while the RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 will have 220W and 170W TDPs, respectively. The entry-level RTX 5050 is expected to come with a 100W TDP. This increase in power is likely to deliver significant performance gains, but it will also require robust cooling solutions and possibly higher wattage power supplies.

Seasonic Power Supply Listings
Seasonic, a well-known power supply manufacturer, has listed the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs, confirming some of the power specifications. According to their listings, the RTX 5090 will indeed have a 500W TDP, and the RTX 5080 will feature a 350W TDP. Additionally, all models in the RTX 50 series will come with a 16-pin connector, which is becoming standard for high-end GPUs. This further solidifies the need for compatible power supplies that can handle these high power demands.

Intel Arc A770 Game Compatibility
Intel's Arc A770 GPU has been put through its paces with a test involving 250 games. The results are quite promising, with 93% of the games being playable. Out of the total, only 5% were unplayable, highlighting the A770's potential as a competitive gaming GPU. The remaining percentage had some issues but were not completely unplayable. This shows Intel's significant progress in the GPU market, aiming to provide gamers with a viable alternative to NVIDIA and AMD.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT Price Drop
For the first time, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT has dropped to $649. This price reduction makes it a more attractive option for gamers looking for high performance without breaking the bank. The RX 7900 XT offers excellent performance, and this price cut makes it competitive against other high-end GPUs. This move is likely in response to market dynamics and the need to stay competitive against NVIDIA's offerings.

I can't wait to read the comments when they officially release and people whining about the power consumptioon 😬 lol

You do realize that the last generation power consumption did go down or equal with better performance right? like 4090 performance increase for almost 80%+ with almost equal power consumption and lower cards like 4060, 4070 performance increase with less power consumption. So in my opinion, their rant about it is totally valid plus you don't really want your bills to go crazy too.

Im looking forward to 5000 series, the 5090 will be interesting for those gamers playing racing/flight sims that run triple 2k/4k monitors.
The 3080 was just abke to hit triple 4k 60fps with some settings turned down. But now we're able to get the higher fps with more eye candy. Ive been holding off a while for this next generation.
But niw i need to rethink my build with whats been happening with 13th/14th gen chips 😭

I need a 5090 to send emails and watch Dan Does PC You Tube videos. If I had a Lamborghini, fuel economy would be my main concern.

Dan, if some one wants an organic explanation on PC and life, then this is where they'll be. I appreciate you. I need to build a new PC. But wanting to wait until the new Arrow Lake Cpu and the new 5080's . Stll running on a 6700k cpu and a 1080. PC built in summer 2016

Great, my 39th birthaday is coming up, so i better ask mom if she will buy me a 4090 and a 9700x3d. My basement dwelling is so damn comfortable and mommas meals are sublime.

May need to wipe her ass again now, she is calling.

Happy days ❤😅🎉

What game are you playing in the beginning of the video? Looks kinda cool

4090 is super power efficient. Think it pulls less power than 7900xtx. For instance when I used an 13900kf with an 4090 an 600w sfx psu was enough to power the system. When I sold the 4090 and got money+ an 3080 from a friend I had to restrict the 13900kf to 120w because the games would crash out to windows.

Tbh for me XX90 power sconsumption is bothering. It heats up my room, and no, I dont have properly functioning AC. I need CUDA and VRAM for my non-gaming workloads that I can't get sufficient VRAM with XX80's. And it's cheapest high-vram CUDA GPUs. So power draw is an issue for me, but I just work around it pulling down PL. But sure, I would be glad if they released XX70-tier GPUs with 20G+ of VRAM.

The reason to complain is because they are very high.. nobody wants to buy a PC and have the temps at or near shutdown thermal throttling points.. I look at some of the CPU's out there, we got Ryzen which run at a whole lot less power the Intel.. how is it they are able to run their chips not even close to the power that Intel is running their chips at.. power consumption is meaningful because in the end, you have to pay for the more power you use.. the GPU power has also taken a huge leap up as well.. where you use to be able to buy a 750 watt PSU, now you are looking at buying a 1200 watt PSU.. they have taken Moores law to about its end, can not make the transistor much smaller.. so what to work on, power consumption.. make them more efficient.. the less power, the lower the temps as well.. the more power these things use, the hotter your PC will be, and as I stated, we are running at or near the limits in normal loading, in fact, they have ran up the clock speeds so much, overclocking is now highly limited.. how much further you going to push a 14900k or ks intel chip about the 6.0 or 6.2 frequency they run at? Not much.. I say both the power draw, the frequencies, and temps all matter.. if you bought your lamborgini and it ran so hot it was melting parts of the engine together, would you then be pissed? I think so, we have had cables melting from the power draw, we have had CPUs burning up.. there is lots of reasons for concern..

People complain about power and heat because they hope with the new technology NVIDIA can lower the heat and power consumption. If they just increase the power then what's the difference with the Overclocked RTX 40. Literally what they do is just increase power.

Regarding your questions about wattage: because as technology advances we countless times could have better performance for less energy consumption. So, for the money Nvidia asks they better find ways to perform better while consuming less. After all there is a global energy crisis.

Your wild guess is incorrect in my case. I am one of those people that will buy the Lamborghini and actually go 200 MPH with it. I do Sim Racing with triple 4K screens. The 5090 will at least get me high settings in most of the racing title I play. Also, I think that people that will be purchasing the 5090 already assume that the card is power hungry.

Is 5090 delayed to late 2025. I read an article this Week saying it’s coming out late 2025. It was reputable article but I thought maybe it was a typo

They complain about power cuz they really cant afford the GPU. So they find dumb flaws to justify not being able to get one.

Pc gaming is like car hobbies- gotta pay to play. If power consumption is an issue, dont by the top-end stuff.

You're analogy is right. Even better is people buiding high Hp cars and complaining about fuel consumption.

I appreciate your rant, I agree. Gamers are incredibly entitled. Always complaining about prices, when the entire idea of gaming is a luxury. Even “budget” pc builds are a luxury. You need food and shelter, not a 3060.
Nvidia is in the business to make money - not to make you happy. It’s a fiduciary responsibility to make money for the company, not to make end users happy with a paltry $200 off.
