That is the context needed to understand what Catherine is saying here. Remember Padre Pio and the bishop above him. Its the same. Hierarchy is made by God it is a form of order for the lawless earth. Obedience is a shield and power of the laity combined. What comes Great power comes Great responsibility. What comes greater graces comes greater trials. Many saints proven that obedience and humility is powerful before the eyes of God. Its what Jesus shown though He is the Son of God the Word incarnate, He followed the law of God and the government. He demonstrates the complete act of proper obedience and humility.

Oh dear, I wasn't aware of this. But as far as Pope Francis is concerned we must not criticise him but pray for him. He is the genuinely elected Pope whether we like it or not. He has said and done things that oppose truth and goodness but only in his ordinary capacity - not ex cathedra. So we must obey him but not necessarily believe everything he does and says.
