I can't even fully express how much Warren Haynes has meant to me in my life. This song has uplifted me so many times. I was very lucky to see it performed live on many occasions with the full force of the Allman Brothers Band. This version gave me goosebumps and brought a tear to my eye. I am so happy that Playing for Change has done this. There's just something about seeing great musicians from around the world sharing the experience of a song that warms the heart and makes my soul shine.

My Father passed away on January 29, 2024.

A few days before his death, my band rehearsed this song and I couldn't finish singing the second verse. Somehow I felt that my Father's time was running out, I mean REALLY RUNNING OUT, and I burst into tears.That song, at that exact moment, felt like a 45 bullet in my chest.

But I didn't feel any pain, as she was there to comfort me and not make the situation worse.

Music is my companion, whether in the happiest moments or in deep pain.
