Parents Worried About Safety At Duchess Park

Показать описание
It's one of the city's newest parks, attracting families from across Prince George. But now some parents are worried about the safety of their little ones, after a group of teenagers allegedly intimidated a young family at Duchess Park. Mom Crystal Giesbrecht says last Thursday evening, the teens were spitting, vandalizing the playground equipment, playing roughly around her young son, and swearing. She says other parents left, because they didn't feel safe. The police were called, and took away the teenagers' paint. RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass says the best line of defense, is to call police. If problems are reported in a certain area, officers can do extra patrols. Giesbrecht believes there should be more security around the park, before it's destroyed. Duchess Community Park opened in 2012; the total cost of the project was over $1 million.
