How A Survey Is Different From Income Tax Dept Search? Or Are They Similar?

The Income Tax Department on Tuesday started conducting surveys at the premises of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in Delhi and Mumbai in connection with alleged tax evasion and irregularities.
While many called it a raid, a senior official of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said that these were Surveys, not searches, being conducted at the BBC offices.
