This is the anime that broadened my anime horizon. I used to watch mecha anime and shounen anime like One Piece, Naruto and Hajime no Ippo as well as other contemporaries like Shaman King, Bleach and FMA.
But after Darker then Black, I really started watching all kinds of shows.
It's a great anime and the animation holds up to this day.

When I was 11 and was watching just the mainstream anime at the time, this anime opened the floodgates to watching complex anime and themes and just plain shonen action. One of my favorite anime of all time

i enjoy this anime a lot and still find myself coming back to it over the years, such a great vibe, the softness of Li and the badassery hei had, also really digged the dynamic Misaki and Li/Hei had in the first season, and lots of great fanfics involving that pair
