Wayanad Landslide Rescue: 276 Killed; Kerala CM And Rahul Gandhi Arrive On Scene

Wayanad Landslide: Rescue operations in Wayanad continue for the third consecutive day following the devastating landslides. Soldiers from the 122 Infantry Battalion of the Territorial Army, based at West Hill Barracks in Calicut, have been conducting search and rescue missions through severely affected areas from Vellarimala towards Attamala. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, along with Chief Secretary Dr. V. Venu and DGP Shaik Darvesh Sahib, are traveling to Wayanad from Kozhikode to oversee the situation. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have also left for Wayanad, departing from Delhi's T4 airport. Brigadier Arjun Segan, Commandant of the Para Regimental Training Centre, reported that a metallic footbridge was constructed overnight, and efforts are underway to complete a 24-tonne capacity bailey bridge by this afternoon.

A lot of rich people are donating big sums of money. My request to these people is to construct houses for those survivors . Money given to organuzations will never solve their problems. Some people promised 5 cr each for the rescue but once the rescue work is.over, they will be destitute running from pillar to post for help. To avoid such a situation, donors themselves construct houses for victims.
