That’s what Elon Musk stated during the third quarter earnings conference. He has made a crystal-clear statement that emphasized Tesla’s commitment to making EVs affordable for the masses. Other Tesla executives also made it clear this week that a new and low-cost vehicle was in the process and coming in the first half of 2025. During the call, Ashok Elluswamy, Director of Autopilot Software at Tesla stated that "We're working on cheaper models to come out." He also claimed that "Teams are working to get the factories ready today to try and make that happen".

Musk has publicly denied reports claiming that Tesla is scrapping the Model 2 in favor of its Robotaxi. On April 5, 2024, Musk responded to a Reuters report by stating that Reuters is lying again and reaffirmed that Tesla is still committed to the Model 2. This strong denial from Musk underscores the company's commitment to the Model 2. Given Musk's track record of transparent communication, his public denial carries considerable weight and directly contradicts the rumors.

Tesla has the #1 spot in deaths as a result of crashes. Maybe focus on SAFETY?

If the model 2 is as good has it sounds, then it will be my next EV.
What I would like to see is V2G & V2L on the new model.
Solid State batteries would also be great.

2.. To Have the lower planned price for the new model 2 Redwood reduction in range and options may be necessary.

I would like to see the model two or model Q, which ever is chosen, to be to be a similar design as a Robo taxi. A two seater with ample storage room inside of it that I can still use to haul my audio equipment around, which I currently use a Chevy Colorado to do..

It will hopefully have a softer, more compliant ride than the likes of Honda Civic, which hates rough roads, which abound in Australia.

I would like to see the newest 4680 solid state batteries in the Cybertrucks. 4 years ago we were promised a 500 mile Cybertruck. The solid state batteries are much safer also. We just lost 3 young college students by fire in a cybertruck. Let’s get going ! I now have cash for my newer CyberBeast as soon as the newer batteries are offered.

This seems more in line than what I think the Model 2 will cost. Interesting view.

I think this a game changer because Tesla can adapt their production to take advantage of new battery developments that will give greater range and less cost. I just hope it will be available in right hand drive unlike my Model S which is discontinued in right hand drive. That's 10 years of Tesla support down the drain for me.

How will Tesla ensure the Model 2 Redwood remains competitive in terms of range and performance?

I wonder if they are getting rid of the 7500 tax credit.. as Trump has been trying to scrap it
