take 2ml fresh fruit juice Apple milk onion .
add same amount of Benedict solution

a green PPT appears in the solution which may later turn Orange to bring red in colour

show the presence of glucose reducing sugar

green PPT shows the presence of glucose in lesser concentration

Orange aur red PPT indicate its presence of higher concentration

**Aim:**
To test for the presence of carbohydrates in various samples (milk, apple juice, onion juice, and glucose) using the Benedict test and Fehling test in a 11th-grade biology laboratory setting.

**Requirements:**
1. Samples: Milk, apple juice, onion juice, and glucose solution
2. Benedict reagent
3. Fehling solution A and B
4. Test tubes
5. Water bath or heat source
6. Bunsen burner (if required)
7. Pipettes or droppers
8. White tile or background surface

**Procedure:**
1. Prepare the samples: Obtain milk, apple juice, onion juice, and a glucose solution.
2. Benedict Test:
a. Take small portions of each sample in separate test tubes.
b. Add an equal volume of Benedict reagent to each test tube.
c. Heat the test tubes in a water bath for a few minutes. Observe any color change.
3. Fehling Test:
a. Take small portions of each sample in separate test tubes.
b. Add equal volumes of Fehling solutions A and B to each test tube.
c. Heat the test tubes in a water bath. Note any color changes or precipitate formation.

**Results:**
- Benedict Test:
- Positive: Formation of a brick-red precipitate indicates the presence of reducing sugars.
- Negative: No color change or minimal color change indicates the absence of reducing sugars.
- Fehling Test:
- Positive: Formation of a reddish-brown precipitate indicates the presence of reducing sugars.
- Negative: No color change or minimal color change indicates the absence of reducing sugars
