I honestly just love when Jomboy shouts out cool stories and unique players like this. No other channel like this.

Im British and grew up a huge cricket fan. Last 5 years or so ive fallen in love with Baseball and Jomboy media has been a HUGE part of that, so to see Jimmy doing a breakdown of Rakheem Cornwall, of all people, is surreal and i couldnt be more here for it 😂❤

That man is 6'6" 300+. That's a BIG LAD to be out there playing cricket. Beast of a human, beast of a bowler.

I love how the more a player looks like they've been dragged out of a pub the better spin bowler they are. Warnie would be proud and I hope Cornwall gets the call up against Australia later this year.

ICC is killing cricket by not posting highlights. But Jomboy is growing cricket.

At 2:00, when you say the ball in the right was lobbed more in the air, is what in cricket is called giving it more 'flight' . Being able to vary your flight is one of the most essential skills for a spinner, as it makes it harder for batters to judge where the ball will bounce, and therefore more likely for the ball to deviate more than expected and create a mishit, as we saw here.

1:22 “I’ve got some overlays for people who are still like ‘I don’t see anything happening here.’” Came at the exact moment where I was thinking “I still don’t see anything happening here.”

Watching this game live, Cornwall was so good. So many other bowlers tried speed, but Cornwall was really the only bowler that troubled Jamaica. Absolutely glued to the screen when he was bowling.

This is peak MLB off-season content for Jomboy and I'm here for it. Can we get a pitch tipping analysis next?

2:14 his form is so consistent that it almost looks frame-by-frame like the same footage. his shirt even rides up in the exact same way.

I got into cricket probably 10 years ago now, and it has been so lonely to be an American cricket fan haha great to see cricket content on the channel!

Jomboy thank you so much for putting this up. Ive personally never been drawn to cricket or even baseball, but I love the psychology behind the pitcher's duel with the batter and particularly the influence on spin mixups. I used to play competitive ping pong and the mind game is incredibly similar with the server and the initial volley.

Rakheem the dream, what a player. really great your covering these niche stories Jimmy. As you can see not many people watch the domestic WI 50 over comp.

I still don’t know diddly squat about cricket, but I sure do love your breakdowns of it. Cornwall is my type of athlete, got that sleeper build!

This is a great breakdown of some clever spin bowling - people often tend to think of it as being just about which way the ball moves off the pitch when it bounces, but it's so much more than that - flight and drift, bounce and skid - these all come into it, and this is a great example of those skills all being used. And then it's followed by a great example of a batter who can play that sort of spin well - he's clearly watching the ball spin in the air, so in a sense he knows how it's going to behave, follows the flight of the ball, and knows where it's going to go when it bounces. That's a difficult skill to master for a batsman.

Who needs ESPN when you have jomboy! Your passion for sports is contagious! Thank you!

That's like seeing a wakefield knuckle ball, followed by a kershaw/zito curveball - straight filthy. But if it is hit - it is tattooed to the next dimension.

Thanks Jomboy for bringing attention to cricket. I’ve definitely enjoyed watching the sport pretty much all because of your coverage of the sport.

Would love Jomboy to delve into some old footage of peak Warnie. Think some of his highlights would blow his mind.

re: confusing off and leg spin, the other way to think about it is from the bowler's perspective, finger and wrist spin. With Cornwall here you can distinctly see how he's getting the spin just by rolling his two fingers down the ball on the release, the classic right hand offspin. Compare that to a wrist/leggie like Shane Warne (seriously so look at some videos if you haven't) and you can see how the whole hand is involved with getting the leg spin

Wrist spinners (righties and lefties) tend to get a lot more spin since it's a bigger action, whereas finger spin doesn't spin as much but it's a much more accurate way to bowl
