What is an Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)?

In this first lesson in this new series, we start off with the basics about what a balloon pump is, how it works, and why we use it and when we don't. I also cover a bit about the placement and positioning of the balloon as it is vital not only to functioning but preventing complications. This first lesson will serve as a foundation for the remaining lessons of this series.
