I've performed numerous karaoke songs in the original key, but sometimes I had to push it to make it through. I now see how much easier and better it is to sing in the right key.This video hammers home the importance of singing your own voice versus imitating the other singer. Great job, Freya!

You have to be careful to not damage your voice.  I've heard voice teachers say damage can remain dormant until a few years later.  I took that to heart and try to be careful.

First time commenting on a video on YouTube ever but thank you so much this has me helped a lot like a few minutes ago I tried it with my Piano app and could go up to a D7 with a lot of ease which before I strained to get and honestly I couldn't sing that note before this video even one or two notes before that too-I'm a soprano in my choir. Going to keep practicing this new discovery of my voice. I'm grateful to watch you and learn new things about my voice. And as you described I'm one of the shy ones so this helped a bunch.
