Dang Oz is getting so big. Been watching before he was here and watching him grow and you teach him how it's done is pretty awesome

I tie the Alberto myself. Love it quick simple and I haven’t had a failure ! The failure generally comes with bait selection, reading water and general dumbassery! But not the knot! Good video

Dropping knowledge!! Definitely would like to see the other rigging method on the straight shank hook to avoid losing fish!

Was always a Palomar knot guy until I got hooked on the San Diego jam from watching your videos and I’ve been fishing for 30 years now. Easiest, quickest, and best knot you can tie.

Appreciate the knot tips. I crappie fish a ton with jigs so use the loop knot almost exclusively, but if I do any other bait 90% time I use a Paloma knot. If I tie braid to Fluorocarbon I normally use the double uni knot. When I started out fishing the first knot I ever leaned was the fisherman’s knot and it works good but at times tends to slip. Like u said especially on braid. My son stated throwing big swim baits last year and I used the San Diego jam knot but it definitely practice like any other knot. Ozzy was cracking me up when u was talking at the end he was in a trance. Definitely nap time. 🤣

San Diego Jam knot is the jam. Great vid..
You need to adopt the Berkley Loop Knot! Double loop through the eye and incorporates some of the classic Uni Knot but when done it is LOCKED down!

Great video, brother! I particularly liked the first and third knot. I’ll definitely use that Snell knot this weekend!
On the last knot (braid to fluoro), one thing I like to do is burn both ends and press them against the knot to get them to lay flat. If I don’t, the knot tends to grab the eyes of my rod when I cast. On spinning gear it can be a catastrophe, and on bait casting gear it can lead to the one of the worst “professional overruns” you’ll ever experience (next to bank fishing and the invisible tree branch behind you grabs your lure on a bomb cast, or you snag your buddy’s hat with a crankbait against the wind). 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

I really like the snell knot with the Texas rig. I'm definitely going to try that, like the way the hooks move upwards, a very neat little trick

Alberto Knie, Crazy Alberto. Dude is kind of a legend. Got the nickname crazy for surf fishing at night on the rocks for Striped Bass. Came up with that knot so you can tie it in the dark. Holds up to a beating! Can also mess around with a half hitch finish with the braid, run that tag over the knot then do some alternating half hitches. Done correct it pins the fluro/mono tag end down so it can’t click or catch on guides

I have been using the double uni, trying the improved Alberto now. Good info about the snell on the punch rig, going to re-tie that this week, pads are sprouting!

Snell works very well on a offset as well just have to be little more precise on your loops and cinching it down. Hook up on texas rig increased dramatically. Always glad to see the family invold keep up what you do.

That jam/(improved)clinch knot was the 1st one I was taught and is pretty much the only one (besides the blood knot used for bobber stops) I really tie. I use exclusively braided line and to combat the slippage I leave more tag end and tie a few 1/2 squares or sometimes a single square knot. That way when the tag end slips it won't pass through the knot. When I have used mono, I'd tie a square and melt it into a hard glob.

As a kid my pops taught me the Palomar when i wasnabout ozzies age. Easiest strongest knot for a kid to tie for sure. Plus it was a 3 time knot wars champion.
