The difference between this thing and the f14a is that when you get focused, you can kinda deal with it. Youve got power - you can run/extend if you want, youve got less hot engines than the A- less missile ignore flares situations, and most importantly youve got basically infinite flares so you can survive just fine while being focused down. My only little gripe with the f14 is that the ACM radar is only 9km max range. The 19km that the f16 gets is much more useful and unlike the mig which also has only 10km, you dont have the hmd, so sometimes getting locks in time with it can be awkard

The F-14 do be fun but the F-4J is more enjoyable.

F-4E is always the best for me and I think it will remain so. I absolutely love F-14 and F-4J, but F-4E is really iconic for me.

To each their own opinion, but mine is...the more people that target you the better, you can bait half the enemy team, have enough cm's to dodge every missile, get 4-5 kills every match, and is a lot more fun. If everyone thought on the same page as you then there is no point flying f16, mig29, m2k, f14 over the f4j. The reason people fly those planes is because they have something inherently better about them rather than the phantom. Once you get good at doing whatever each of those planes does better there is 0, ZERO point in taking the f4j over them. Cheers!
