The way I see it, she really didn’t have much of choice. She talked with Iroh and Zuko. And also had a back up plan.
Sadly it just didn’t work out.
She really did everything she could to save the air nation :(

Zuko from the original avatar series will always be the best written and developed character in my opinion. No one faced identity crisis, internal struggles, and existential crisis like zuko and over came it in such an unexpected way.

Personally, I like Book 1 episode 4. "The Voice in the Night" Tarrlok manipulates Korra into joining the task force he's a slimeball but he's an effective antagonist. The first time we see Tenzin asking Korra if she wants to talk, the scene where Amon threatens Korra and her admitting she's afraid of him.
