With every physical dollar you have, you have options. Once you deposit it in a bank, it becomes a digital currency just like BTC. You can transfer it from person to person. You can wire it to your bank in Thailand. An advantage, BTC allows you to move millions. Both BTC and bank wires have the same problem once you go collect your actual cash. You generally have to move your money to a physical bank. Banks will not let you get out large amounts without the government getting involved.

The advantage of BTC is its ability to purchase illegal goods and services while escaping government scrutiny. For the vast majority of people, it's just an extra step. What is the point.

Can i ask a silly question...
What happens after the top one percent own all the Bitcoin?
1) Will we be back to where we are now
2) just say 5 yrs from now the one percent sell big time that will trigger the rest to let go...then the 1percent buy it all up?
3) And what happens if there is a selling rush and Bitcoin drops in price until no one wants it anymore because they saw that the 1percent is playing games again? Then all the money is lost forever.

As a tool bitcoin is essentially mainly being used for speculative investment but as a decentralised currency which was its intention it performs pretty badly it’s no where near stable enough as a currency
