From The Bold Type's Jane to SATC's Carrie to Desperate Housewives' Susan to OITNB's Piper to HIMYM's Ted to... *so many* others, main characters are the ones that pull us into a show or movie, the eyes through which we experience the story, and sometimes, and much as we may love them… they’re really annoying.

I personally don’t enjoy annoying main characters. In fact, I don’t watch the show if the main character is annoying

I think the worst main character is Sookie Stackhouse from "True Blood". She is always ditching her responsibilities to get involved with vampires and she is always endangering her friends' lives, even getting some of them killed. Carrie Bradshaw maybe selfish, self centered and entitled, but at least her friends are all alive and well.

Umm.. I don't love them at all. I usually watch for their side characters because they're a lot more interesting and grounded. I tolerate the main characters. I find them annoying more often than not.
