Hi DIY - excellent information. The only bit that I would add is that it needs to be a quick turn of the head, because if new drivers spends too long checking that area, the vehicle tends to veer in that direction. Our peripheral vision is attracted to light and movement, and often a quick check is all that is required when turning your head 90° because if there's something there, our central vision will be drawn in for a closer examination. I used to check my blind spot like that at 2:47 because none of my instructors told me that it was incorrect but yet if I did that on a road test, I possibly could've failed. SCAM! Thanks for this vid again man.

The mistake he talks about at the end of the video is literally how my friend drives his car. I told him multiple times it’s extremely dangerous since you lose sight of what’s in front of you if you turn your head like that. He got mad every time I tell him that lol. I'm so stupid lmao. When I used to check my blind spots, that would be the only thing I could see because I didn't do what he did at 1:56. Lmao. That's why I was always nervous when I checked my blind spot because I couldn't see the road for that 2 seconds. Thank you for this video 😂👍🏽💪🏽💯

Excellent one, I always do it properly, but in reality, I feel the small mirror or those new blind spot light on new car models are very helpful (Even if I am still driving an old car now).

Blind spots occur because people have always learned adjusting mirrors the wrong way. Blind spots can be completely eliminated if you just move the sideview mirrors beyond the point where you can see the side of your car. I tried that and blind spots were completely eliminated. I got a sort of a panoramic view around the car.

He didn’t mention that turning your body will also cause you to turn the steering wheel even slightly and cause you to veer your car into the other lane.
