It's much more than that: many lines of the existing metro will be extended to have their terminus meet the stations of the new line 15 (extension of lines 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 12) and a 120 million euro package have been approved for their studies.
Many other lines have already been strategically extended in these years (line 4, 11, 14, 12 to the north ) so that they will meet with the upcoming metro line 15. It's a pity that the line 12 got extended to the north first (to connect with "line 15 est" but this section of the line will open only in 2030) and not to the south, since the southern section of line 15 is opening right next year and a connection would have been great. The southern extension is finally confirmed, but surely passengers of the line 12 will have to wait some more years to get connected with the metro 15.
Also, entire new neighborhoods are being built all at once in preparation of this metro, and it's particularly true for the line 15.
