Wow: Hi Fly’s Airbus A380 Circumnavigates The World In 34 Hours

Hi Fly’s Airbus A380 has been flying a lot in the last few days. In fact, within the span of four days (May 14th to May 18th) and a total flight time of 33.75 hours, the superjumbo has managed to circumnavigate the world as part of humanitarian efforts related to COVID-19.

If that's not an advert for how good the A380 is, I don't know what else it's such a shame that this has happened, the giant aircraft is an engineering marvel.

Airbus, already well established in the freighter market with the 54t-capacity A300-600F and the 39t-capacity A310F, has now moved to the upper end of the cargo market with the launch of the A380-800F freighter. The aircraft carries a 150t payload, comprising 71 large cargo pallets or containers on three decks. Airbus claims the payload capacity is 30% larger than that of the nearest competitor aircraft.

They should have built the freighter version., maybe instead of scrapping them the carriers should convert them to cargo, after all UPS has 757s that are close to 30 years old still flying.

Pity it’s is not possible to make an engine powerful enough to fly this aircraft with a pair. It only has R/T on engine 2 and 3 anyway.

i prefer A380 over b747. A380 looks finished and more sleek . the hump on the b747 is very ugly and it looks bad only half double decker
