I've tried Rust, and I don't hate it. The compiler errors are beautifully written. However, I'm not convinced the language has proven itself. Can I build a complex project that works out of programmers who aren't experts?

Ruthlessly I'm asking the question: does it work? Is it a good solution? Where are the large projects with multiple teams of developers using it successfully, discounting the actual developers of the language of course like in Firefox?

It bothers me that some academically simple things like trees and linked lists don't translate well to Rust. Sure, it's doable, but it seems ugly. This makes me wonder if in practice the intellectual overhead of using the language makes it too expensive.

I might be wrong, but something similar can be achieved with macros in c++. But again, its not in the default syntax, and the error message defends rust.
