That 450W 3090ti consumption is enough to boil some tea and cook eggs. And you can just turn off the heating in winter when gaming with that card.

Basic recap: Any card that has less than 10 GB VRAM will be severely limited at 4K so when it comes to NVidia cards, you need at least a 3080 and preferably a 3080 12 GB as to not run into memory limitations.
The worst value for money card in this lineup is the RTX 3070 Ti which is insultingly bad. I would never recommend that card to anyone.
If you game at 1080p or 1440p, the 3060 Ti will do just fine and at a much lower power consumption than the 3070 or 3070 Ti.
If you game at 4K, the 3080 is best value for money, the 3080 Ti is the best overall (price / performance / power consumption) and the 3090 is a waste of silicon because it barely outperforms the 3080 Ti while costing 500 dollars more and using 100 Watts more power. The 3090 Ti at a price of over 2000 dollars is even worse value.

I got a RTX 3080 Ti and undervolted it @ 800mV which at that voltage gives me roughly the same performance as the 3080 12 GB but at 283 Watts peak power and roughly 250 Watts average.
If I ever need more speed I can just switch profile to stock or OC settings but so far I've hit 60 FPS+ average in every game with all settings maxed out except for Cyberpunk 2077 because that game has a crap engine.

If y'all wondering why the RTX 3080 Ti is blocked at 350W. Well, it's the power limit for most of the cards. So in a few words, the RTX 3080 Ti can't have more performance because it constantly decrease its Mhz to be under 350W.
Some custom cards like the SUPRIM X (normally) for example, has a higher power limit (it's 430W if i remember right). And so you have more performance.

If you want to have a maximum of performances, then buy a graphic card with a high power limit for 3080/3090. Not low ones that have only 350W.

I had it in my mind that 3090TI was about the same as 3080TI, but according to your tests it’s consistently about 15% faster. If the 3090Ti can be had for at least half off, it might not be a bad buy even now.

The 3080 Ti offers a performance boost of roughly 133% of the 3070 Ti in most titles. It also has the larger increase in SMs (80 SMs for the 3080 Ti compared to 48 SMs for the 3070 Ti). That is probably the main contributing factor...

3080 ti is the sweet spot, not a doubt in my mind.. can do older games at 4K and current ones at 1440P/60 in ultra.
Save a thousand bucks in the process (in Australia at least where I am from).

I see the 3090Ti drawing 440W. My entire computer - Ryzen 9 5950X @ 4.65GHZ and a 2080Ti - uses a tad less power than that, measured at the AC power plug, when playing Tiny Tina's Wonderlands in 4K.

So 8GB video memory is definitely bottleneck at 4k. Too bad I didn't get 6900xt but 3080 will do I hope. 600 euros for practically new 12GB 3080 was too good deal to refuse.
