Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity between thee (Satan) and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel."
I have always read over this verse, but only recently have I noted something important. Usually, the"seed" comes from the man. Here, the woman's seed is mentioned, foretelling the coming of the Messiah through the virgin birth. No man's seed was involved; the Holy Spirit came upon her, and she conceived. God is truly amazing!

There are better words than ROLE. I think we should get away from the word "role". Role is word from sociology and theater. Use "order of creation" or "vocation/calling" - or divine design. The vocabulary we use shapes the way we think and live. Be aware of the background and connotations of the vocabulary in these things.

My understanding is that both men and women (mankind) were given the responsibility to govern the earth, looking after it.
The difference was that in the family, the man holds ultimate responsibility under God, and women holds responsibility under the man (and God!).
The ability to use responsibility humbly to achieve God's will now requires the direction of the Holy Spirit, because mankind sees dimly, has tendency for moral failure, and has fallen short of God's higher, perfect way.
To overcome sin, both men and women need to give up the lust to dominate and control, , and bow the knee to God, dying to self/wilfulness, in order to overcome corruption.
If men continue to lust for power, in opposition to God's will, he (or she) cannot achieve the things God has planned.
