The MIT YouTube channel features videos about all types of MIT research, including the robot cheetah, LIGO, gravitational waves, mathematics, and bombardier beetles, as well as videos on origami, time capsules, and other aspects of life and culture on the MIT campus. Our goal is to open the doors of MIT and bring the Institute to the world through video.

Ever since I first watched that show about space on the Discovery channel as a kid, I've aimed at being in the field of physical research. I dreamt of being in MIT in 8th grade, but now, 2 years later, I've come to realize that wherever I end up, I won't stop working in physics. Math will always be my morning coffee and physics, my bread. To everyone who makes it to MIT; congratulations, you made it! It's not a small achievement and you have a bright future ahead of yourselves. And to all those who don't make it, you can still make it. Making the world a better place and developing your field does not require a degree from a prestigious institute; all you require is hard work and perseverance.

In my country, JEE (a national entrance examination for engineering colleges) is given more importance than international Olympiads (generally). Yesterday, a senior asked me, "What do you get from these Olympiads? like what's the point?" On the spot, I was blank. I couldn't think of any direct advantages. After quite a few awkward seconds of silence, the only answer I could come up with was the enjoyment and pleasure one gets from solving the problems. Later that day, I realized that I finally made it. I realized that I had finally come to the point where I forgot about the direct advantages and did it for the love of math. I never have to force myself to do any worksheets now, it has become more of a pleasure. I have finally fallen in love.

I'll be appearing for the first stage of selection of candidates for the IMO in about 3 months, so wish me luck. Whether I qualify for the next level or not, the preparation has changed my entire life. I can say now, not from corny quotations on social media, but from experience, that the journey is more important than the destination. My destination is MIT, and I will be on campus in the year 2025.

Dear MIT professors, I am forever indebted to your OCW lectures. I come from a small town where electricity is a luxury but I persevered and got accepted to a very selective university in my undergrad. I worked as a scientist but I yearned to change career paths geared towards understanding molecular biology and more intricate biochemistry details. So I went back to school and rediscovered the best lectures here on YouTube, came across the OCW and it is helping me fill in the gaps for all the knowledge I have learned in different academic institutions. By far, your lectures have been excellent, if not the best I have ever come across. And I wish to visit MIT and Cambridge to see if it’s a good fit to where my goals are taking me. Thank you for bringing education to all generations of people from all walks of life. I can’t thank you enough.
