I read from forums few years ago that 0.5 is for 11 speed and up, 0.75 for 10 speed below regardless aluminum or steel.

Preventive replacement so far has cost me more since often i had to replace cassette as well, while everything was working perfectly upfront. So now i just wear it out completely.

Had an Ultegra chain on that I was told was 50% worn. Bought a new Ultegra chain, laid them alongside each other and the old one was just short of a full link longer at 108 links. Better shifting with the new chain especially on the chainrings.

WARNING: If you're using this ParkTool chain measuring tool, than you need to replace your chain when and if you can gently push in the O.5 tip into the chain. If you wait until the the 0.75 tip fits the chain, ITS TOO LATE, because you just ruined your cassette. Why ParkTool put a 0.75 tip is a cruel Joke. I know cause I own a Bike Shop in Seattle WA and I see this all the time.

hi sometimes if i change my chain with the same part number sometimes it will not compliment on my sprocket it always slip in every gear so can i ask if i will change my sprocket 2

i dont evem have to measure, when i pedal a bit too hard the chain just moves and snaps around. i will replace it soon.
