People keep commenting it’s all about the money. When I’m in the US and I meet a woman, the first question I’m often asked is “What do you do for a living?”
When isn’t money as a man attracting a woman at least partly based on money? High school or college. But once you’re past that stage money does come into play.
Millions of men working at McDonalds or Walgreens or even high paying blue collar jobs are invisible to women in the US. It’s just how things are .
Go to any marina or country club in the US. You will see the intersection of wealthy men and young women. Same thing in Thailand or Colombia or what have you. We just turn a blind eye to it in the US.

Why are guys after a divorce in a rush to meet someone what is wrong with enjoying the freedom and travel single. I want to date as many countries and make many friends as possible. No rush or interest to being tied down again just don't get the rush to be in a relationship when your 60 plus.

Good info, I tried registering online dating whether Thailand or South America, I didn’t even get around posting my photos yet and I would have a hundred hits in one day, seems too scammy and fake so I never took a chance but I hear folks promoting and I guess having success.

as i'm getting older & less adaptable - a major issue (in the interest of safety) is driving side. Thailand is one of those which drives on the left. even long ago visiting London at 50, I caught myself almost stepping into traffic. an important issue in choosing where to go! you can find a map online showing driving side by country.

The pension info is incorrect. OAS and your CPP are yours forever and will go with you, the GIC requires you to be resident, but if you've got any kind of pension, you're not going to be getting GIC. It's a common misperception here that you lose everything. The health care issue is different depending on the province you are showing as your home resdiency, and also different depending on which province you move back to when you return. It's actually a bit complicated, and I've personally been writing to health ministers in different provinces suggesting they cut down on the "months at home" requirements to meet with the current reality of slow travel and help with housing stock by allowing people to rent out their residence for the school terms and be home for 3 months a year.

Thai population is over 78 mil, and Philippines pop is about 120 mil .. For an "older" expat, retiring there, "Who the hell need these pre-panned / site unseen, Risky, Long Distance-Internet Dating Site (so called) Relationships" ..Just Land there (first), get your feet on the ground, look around, and "when your ready" if your a "reasonable person" (guy) you can find / meet "a compatible woman" to be with .. And If you enjoy women "reasonably closer to your own age and maturity level" (like me) I believe "you've got it made" (your better off).. Signing up for the usual, huge "Age & Looks Gap" your "more likely" inviting problems ..

You can live outside of Canada for 6 months per year without losing residency and health care. Beyond 6 months you are out of luck and have to reapply for residency unless you have a substantial 'tie' to Canada such as owning housing

Canadians can get OAS pensions, currently about $720CAD, when living overseas. They can't collect GIS pensions, currently just less than $1100CAD. This differs from the US, UK, and Australia, whose citizens can collect full pensions while living overseas. Why does Canada do this when we have a deteriorating healthcare system and a housing crisis? Because we want hardworking seniors to end their lives in penury? In the snow? Perhaps. There's an election coming up. Is anyone talking about this? Nope. Only me. I post about it all the time, but no one pays attention. I've even contacted journalists. Nada.
