The End for this 25 year Water Garden Center.

I'm visiting the World of Water Aquatic Center @worldofwateraquaticcentres713 that after 25 years it will be closing its doors and a grocery store will replace it. Take a quick tour of this place as we see how a traditional English Garden Center is not very inspiring.

If I'm comparing apples to apples, I like both, but no pond that's been let go and not running is inspiring, including your own (if that were ever to happen). That said, given the choice, I do like the Aquascape ponds better. There's just something about the natural look that speaks to me.

Interesting video and there are as you said 100s, some even worse than this!

Glad you came to Aqua Eden in Somerset and I look forward to helping educate our Aquascape following further in the UK!

So sad, I made my first pond as a little kid with a hefty garbage bag . Fishing in the cemetery pond, had gold fish . My favorite place my happy place

If there was a lot of updating that place could be made profitable. As it is now it screams stagnant

I wish we had massive stores like that in the states with awesome displays and products. I envision Aqualand to have awesome features and a great store as well. I think I saw a Tussey video where they have quite a few features on display at maybe their office. I have a wholesale only place near my house where they have 3 Aquascape features, that the general public can go look at, but then they give u a business card of a contractor to install it for u. They don't carry the supplies for a diy guy. Sad that the owner couldn't pass the business to a son or sell to a new owner that would have kept it up and taken it to another level.

Former employee of this place, started my journey in the industry here, the sale of the site has been on the cards for about 2 years now which probably explains a lot of the state of the displays you saw - if you came 3 years ago you'd have had a very different view. People can and do have very successful and attractive builds using pressurized filters and performed liners, you've just caught a place that's on its way out, not exactly representative sample.

Honestly, and I've wanted to sit down with you for years now, I'm seldom impressed by what many call "natural" or "traditional" and this video is certainly no exception at all. I know the "modern industrial" methods of water gardening whether it is here, Asia, or in the U.K. and this video reflects only "industrial methods" and not a "Victorian Water Garden" by any stretch of the imagination at all...For me, and over 40 years of traditional and natural architecture work (including designing enclosed biomes for nature centers and zoos) I call most of what I see designed and fabricated today as "fake nature, " because that is what most of it is. There is seldom the use of natural "gleying" modalites or the application of wood containment below water level as these methods have been replace by massive uses of plastic, OPC concretes and other overtly industrial...and not natural or sustainable...means and methods in most system...I do admire those that try to be "natural" but most miss that target by a mile...this video was just one more illustration of that reality...as are most water features I see today be they a "plastic foam filled" paludarium/vivarium or a pond in someone backyard using OPC industrial concretes, plastics and other such "not natural" materials...I don't comment often at all but I do wish to stress I enjoy the channel and what your ultimate goals are with bringing as natural a water feature as you can into someone's home...Thank for sharing what you do...

Greg: That last part is very sad. I think it means that you need to get a lot more AquaScape people in this part of the world. I know that it's just not being practical right there, but just think what one of your talented people could do with that area. Their way of doing things there differs from what you do with AquaScape. Some was just pretty, but as I said before, your people would do it gorgeous. Okay, enough!

Apart from having some aquascape contractor's now in the UK. This is normal at most garden/aquatic centres in the UK which is a shame as it doesn't do the hobby justice. Rates and rents in the UK are extremely expensive and put most people out of business.

It doesn't inspire, but with the age of the owner, it seems like he gave up and cashed out. I'd much rather see American style aquascaping.

The water features don't inspire me, but some of the garden spaces do. Even the water features at some of the botanical gardens in the UK didn't inspire me either. The water was dirty so you couldn't even see the fish.

Seen it with nurseries too. Unfortunately the old guy is in his 90s, such is life. I wish him well but you're right - it wont inspire people to put in interesting water features.
