I know im not utilizing net galley to its full potential so this is so helpful. I just created one a few months ago and only actually finished one book through net galley but never put my review in! I obsessivly manage my goodreads and write reviews for everything so i dont know why i find it like so much extra work to just copy and paste to netgalley 😅

(I felt the same way about the bandit queens that it took me a minute to get into it but i was so glad i kept pushing through because it ended up being one of my favorites of the year! ❤️💖)

I didn't even know there were badges until just now! And weirdly, that makes me want to review more books 😂 I went ham when I made a net galley and have only read about 5% of the books I've requested 😅but they still approve me for some, and I feel like I'm stealing hahaha. Oh wow, didn't know Carola Lovering was coming out with a new book!! You are now my NetGalley idol 🙌 When [if] I ever get to 80%, I'll thank you in my speech 😂

Why? Why? Why? Why? A "review" means nothing. I want potential customers to read my reviews. It appears that these reviews happen in the vacuum (circle jerk) of of netgalley, none of which are potential customers (book buyers)...so am I just hoping that one of these netgally members will be "Mr. Big" from Wayne's World who will order 10, 000 copies of my book for his arcade chain? And if Mr. Big does not review then buy 10k copies of my book, it just gets bashed or celebrated within the closed circle of netgalley? I say again, why?

I think it would be amazing to hear about how you grew your initial following on Bookstagram! And any tips you have to increase your following considering how Instagram is currently operating. Next month will be my 2-year anniversary on bookstagram and I have about 2.2k followers which is amazing, but my growth is definitely slow and my engagement isn't super consistent. I haven't found the magic combo for success yet!
