Melanie helped me through so much… after growing up with an abusive grandma (who I saw often) and then her leaving my family because she thought it was out fault her husband died, I listened and still listen to this album so much.

Melanie got me through some very traumatic times in my life as well as healing from childhood trauma. I was fortunate enough to be in college when I first heard her music in 2015, so no one had to “allow” me. However, I have a very conservative family, so I don’t sing her music around them. Regardless, her music means a lot to me. I can see why people wouldn’t allow their child to listen to Melanie. It’s probably not allowed for the children who need that kind of music the most, honestly.
