Why I No Longer Use Stash

I no longer use stash and I give my reasons why, mainly because the fees were eating too much up on my return of the investing. This is a review of the stash investing app. Hope you enjoy!

Stash, however, in my opinion, is still a very good entry-level investing app. I started using Stash because I was overwhelmed by all the investing and Stash made it easy to get into the investing world.

I feel that you neglect to mention that the trade-ff to paying a monthly subscription fee ($1, $3 or $9) is that you don't pay any fees for individual stock purchase transactions

Love this too. I had the app on my phone but never used it. Was doing some research and found your video. Appreciate when someone breaks it down like this! Exactly what I needed!!!

I started with stash and really, really like how they do the onboarding and explaining/encouraging diversifying investment. Also their emails about maintaining investing during market swings were really well done. But yeah, the price is really crazy once you start researching platforms and seeing what they charge. Going to be closing out my account this week.

Thank you for this video. Incredibly well done. Subscribed

I sold all of my Stash stock after they incorrectly withdrew money from my checking account for the 3rd time. I had not authorized them to do so. My checking account pays me nothing, so I keep next to nothing in there. Their withdrawals bounced my checking account. They refused to refund the bounced check charges. I'm transferring the money to M1. Thank you for posting this.

Honestly I subscribed from this video alone! It’s so refreshing to finally see a YouTube video giving financial advice without it being a scam or ploy! Thank You!

Thank you Dayo for your time and responding back to me. Your a very smart individual and I will consider using Schwab for my future financial gain.

Dayo, I'm a long time Stasher and have to say that if you put large lump sum (with weekly auot-invest) and with the intention of investing long-term, it is worth it under the $1/month plan. Also, I just also opened the Stash debit card, and I believe that for transactions you don't normally earn on with credit cards (rent, utility bills, etc), Stash debit is a great way to earn stock-back that is automated. Currently there are no debit products I know on the market that allow rewards for paying bills. That is to say, it is a little non-transparent what the actual rate of stock back is for specific purchases. I remember the initial rate was 2%, but I'm assuming since we are in such a low-interest rate environment, that is now much less.

I guess I don't fully understand your problem with the $1 monthly fee. The average stock trade fee is between $5-9. So how is a $1 monlthy fee a big expense? How much lower could this fee be in your opinion?

I am contemplating quitting stash because everytime I make an investment, no money is deducted from my bank account for some reason and it has me concerned.

You just made them loose me before they got me.
You are very smart & thank you.

Thank you. I was thinking about dropping them before, this video seals that idea.

I pay $9.00 a month but haven't been making any money really on my investments. If anything in the last 2 years my money went down a little bit. I figured after having my money in there for 2 years, that my money would have at least doubled by this time. instead of going down. I thought investing is suppose to grow your money.

I think all the things you mentioned are fantastic - to have a nice easy to use bundle like an IRA and child account with your own personal investing- I actually love it . Is it on the pricey side ? Yes, but people don’t always have to go to the dealership to get their cars worked on, but a lot still do for a host of reasons .

I like stash

I’m curious, because I use stash and they won’t unlock my account nor will their emails work for it, and now they are closing my account because I reached out for help what do I do

I was going to use stash, but after I seen your video I thought twice about it. I just want to make money so I can use it. Like taking out the honeys or maybe buying myself a car.

What this guy is missing is the power of compound interest and long term investing. Stash changed how you think about investing and saving.
