Nuclear Seasons - Charli XCX @ Bowery Ballroom

The performance by Charli XCX was interesting to say the least. She put on a really energetic show and seemed to be having fun, but this was one of the most interesting genre-melding acts I've seen in a while. She sang pop tracks with a gothy feel to them, but performed like she was part cheerleader/part hip hop dancer. Keep in mind, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. Made for a really entertaining show that I'd recommend checking out. Her songs are catchy, but still have a somewhat dark feel & substance to them. Overall, a lot of potential and, in spite of the use of a backing track, a clearly great voice.
