LG 32” 4K MyView Smart Monitor 32SR85U | 2024

LG provided the LG MyView Smart Monitor for free. This is an incentivized review. All other views and opinions expressed in this video are mine and do not necessarily reflect the views or positions of LG.

This is the first time I've used a smart monitor and the LG MyView did not disappoint. The 4K IPS display looks so good and I love that I'm able to access streaming services and browse the web directly on the monitor thanks to webOS.

I recently purchased this monitor and now I’m trying to return it, here is why:

1) No aux out - Your only option for external speaker connection is Bluetooth. The problem is every time you turn the monitor off the connection will be lost and when you turn on, you will need to hit “OK” to confirm to reconnect to the speaker.

2) The Monitor lacks standby mode when connected to a PC (or Mac) using USB-C. The monitor will NOT automatically turn on (or wake up) when you move the mouse or tap on the keyboard to wake up the computer. The only way to “wake up” the monitor is to manually turn it on via the remote or joystick button in the back. The same goes for sleep, monitor will NOT be in standby mode, it will show “No signal” screen (like a TV) and you will have to turn the screen off manually.

3) It won’t auto-switch to USC-C input when your PC is waking up from sleep and you are using smart apps or other inputs. You will have to manually switch to USB-C input via remote.

Think of this product as a TV in a monitor form factor. It’s a shame LG didn’t bother to do minimum work to make this work well as a monitor as it lacks the most basic monitor functionalities.

Mine did not come with a camera and even in the manual it says it's an optional extra. I think LG put one in for you. I am just wondering what file formats the USB C's support and if there are any differences between the ports. Like, can i put movies on a thumb drive and watch them through the USB C sockets on the back of the TV? Both of my HDMI sockets are in use with my laptop and my TV box. Thank you. Great review. got this monitor last week, but having issues, every time i turn on it cycles through red, blue, green and white screen . its soo annoying, have you had this issue? happens even when not connected to any device, i have to do a reset or power off and happens again, bit disappointed

Hi, I’ve seen comments that the built-in webcam works for the built in apps but not for Teams / Zoom etc for a connected PC / laptop. Can you please confirm whether that’s correct? I wondered whether those who have had that problem had connected their computer via HDMI (which would not work).

got this monitor yesterday and I cant get the web cam working with my mac's video conferencing apps like meet/skype or zoom, did you try that ?

This is the most detailed video review I’ve watched for this monitor. I’m wondering if it is possible to connect 2 laptops at the same time to the monitor because of the 2 HDMI ports at the back?
