Time for the MODX7 to go...

Exactly three years ago today, I bought my MODX7 - and now it's time to move on to something else. I always said I'd never sell it...but I guess things change. It's been good, MODX. We can still be friends. #Yamaha #MODX #MODX7

I really wish Yamaha would make a desktop version of their modx or montage. I love the engine just not a fan of the modx keys and don't really need them. The touch screen is so easy to use that if you got rid of most of the buttons and faders it would still be super accessible to program, but keep the super knob of course. I don't ever see them doing that but it would be cool!

What exactly is the difference between the montage and the MODX plus besides the sheer weight of the montage? I know no one has a better bill quality to it, but is it worth the money and the headache of how much it weighs?

I was waiting for yet another MODX slagging. Glad to see it wasn't. :) MODX is a great synth for those of us who can't afford a Montage.

I‘d also prefer a Montage 7 to my MODX 7, primarily because of the keybed with AT. But the Montage is too large and heavy for my rack.

I’m just curious, what’s with all the people I see online who spend absurd amounts of money buying way more synths/keyboards and gear then they could ever use then turning around and selling their gear to buy more random gear? I’m sorry I just need to know, it’s a vicious cycle, does nobody pick a few great pieces of gear and just use them until they have exhausted every avenue on it anymore?
