Notre Dame Recruiting: Breaking Down Tobias Merriweather

Notre Dame needs elite talent at wide receiver in the 2022 class, and arguably no player on the board has a higher ceiling than Washington star Tobias Merriweather.

Love the way he catches the balls with his hands. Very rarely catches with his chest. His qb in high school makes him wait on the ball or throws the ball late. Gotta see how he handles bump and run coverage and see him catch some back shoulder throws.

He has freakish length. He has some growing to do. Coach Balis will have Tobias running 4.5s or even 4.45s, this kid will be a future late 1st or early 2nd Round Draft Pick. Him and CJ Williams will gives us 2 incredibly talented WRs that both will be Drafted in the 1st or 2nd Rounds. They both have Great Techniques that are above their peers. They both have conviction in their game and both have Untapped Speed Potential. CJ reminds me of Keenan Allen and Merriweather reminds me of Tee Higgins or AJ Green, ill take those Hyperboles. These are future starters as well. Looks like both are are coming to Notre Dame too. This class might be be a Gap Closer. #GoIRISH

Something interesting about Cooper Kupp. Ran a 4.62 40 yd dash but hit the top speed (mph) of his team at the senior bowl. 40 yd dash does not equal play speed. It’s why the Rams don’t use it in draft evaluations

This Kid is a Dynamo, personally a must get, along with Xayvion Bradshaw and CJ Williams. I like the Tee Higgins Comparison, but Remember AJ Greens' Highlights in High School, that is who Merriweather reminds me of, AJ Green. We dont need Barn Burners, but get good seperation, cause they are quick in their cuts and convicted in their techniques, that gets them seperation and that's how they beat their Defenders by 4 or 5 yards in Race to the Endzone after the Catch they made. Bradshaw, Merriweather, Williams and Current Committ Amorion Walker would be a absolute Dream Class for me at Wide Receiver, let's Go Polian, Rees and CBK land this haul. #GoIRISH #CFPbound2021 #CFPbound2022

I read an article by an LSU beat writer who thinks LSU will flip Amorion Walker. Supposedly he has visited recently and LSU is pushing hard. If Notre Dame loses Walker what receivers do ND land when the smoke clears? Merriweather and Williams would be an awesome 1-2
