I bought the 10th gen a couple of days ago after using my 6th gen for the last couple of years. I personally think that it was the best choice as I plan to use this for taking notes and I already have the first apple pencil. It is true that you could get the refurbished ipad air 4 with laminated display but being on a budget it was better for me because I don’t have to buy a new pen. And everyone keeps saying how bad it is to charge the pencil with an adapter but they forget how it was before? I think it is better to charge with a cable plus adapter instead of plugging the pen into the ipad, i was always scared to move the ipad because the pencil was fragile while charging plugged in. Plus the non laminated display is so unnoticeable for the normal user in comparison to my 6th gen. All in all I can’t agree with all the negative comments about this ipad.

Thank you. You did an excellent job with this product review. For a High School student or College student, I would highly recommend the new basic iPad 10th generation. With the primary reasons being the style and look of device (in this age group peer pressure is a real thing), the USB port (for extra storage drives and SD cards support), and for the front facing video camera. However, for everybody else, I would suggest doing what, I did and save money by buying the basic iPad 9th generation (it still has a headphone jack, home button, and supports Apple's "center stage" function), and, I paired it with Logitech's Combo Touch keyboard/case and it cost half the price of Apple's keyboard (smile...smile).

I bought this 10th Gen iPad for my 9 year old son, he doesn’t use the Apple Pencil, he doesn’t need a keyboard, he watching movies and streams media, listens to Spotify, plays call of duty mobile with his PS5 controller. He really loves this iPad, this iPad is for kids and basic users, it’s not intended for power users or people that needs more from an iPad 😁 great video.

I have mixed feelings about this year's baseline iPad 10. Personally, I think the better option would be the M1 iPad Air or a second-hand M1 iPad Pro.

I love this guy! So much information and with a good POV. You deserve more subs. I have been wanting to buy an iPad for work and media consumption. I was narrowed down my options to the 10th gen iPad, iPad mini, and iPad Air 4. With all your comments and suggestions regarding these iPads, I think I am gonna go with the 10th gen iPad. I’m fine with using a 3rd party stylus and with the non-laminated screen. Again thank you for helping me with making a decision.

Its a Joke just buy the Air 4 for the same/less money !! Apple Pe cil 2 support and laminated display are very useful for writing.

i think the ipad 10th gen is the best for students because its almost identical with the air especially if ur just gonna buy a knock off apple pencil 2nd gen and ur just gonna place the pencil on ur ipad case instead of buying the 1st gen pencil with the adaptor.

Why do you need to buy a new adapter? The OG apple pencil already has an adapter in the box. The OG Apple Pencil comes with a Female lightning to Female Lightning adapter so you don’t have to charge it directly into the iPad, it also comes with an additional tip

I am a computer science undergrad in need of iPad 10th gen only for the purpose of note-taking and as a secondary device apart from my laptop. Is it a good choice to choose USB-C type pencil over 1st gen apple pencil?

Hey can you confirm that iPad 10 gen upper speakers have low sounds or they just dnt work? Is anyone facing same issue? Although I can feel the vibration from these speakers with low sound but not sure please confirm

Can you use the lightning adapter that came with the old 1st gen Apple Pencil?? I don’t want to have to use a $9 dongle.

Edit: Thank you for the replies. What's super annoying is that the USB-C adapter isn't even available until a week after the iPad comes out so I can't even use my pencil until then... (iPad is arriving tomorrow)
