I remember seeing this during Covid lol. Day 1 of the huge decline I pulled margin to buy. Day 2 the market tanked the same amount so I again pulled margin to buy more. I think it was day 3 that I got margin called and started having to pull credit lines to cover.

Scary as all hell, but thankfully there was a V shaped recovery and I made serious profit.

What sucks most is when they margin call you because the stocks you bought dropped in value. So they go ahead and do a Risk Liquidation and sell them for you lol now you owe then money because they sold your shares at a loss and then you watch the stock price go back up where you wouldve been at profit. Hated that the most

People who invest in securities without some sort of account protection are insane. I trade currencies with stop loss protection and never worry about margin calls and owing money, wtf!

I am not sure about robinhood, but happened to me with other brokerage many years ago when i was naive, still need to pay interest on the whole margin call amount for a day and need to call them to exercise so another fee...

Options are bought with cash 💵 sold with collateral…technically that’s not a margin call ☎️ it would be a margin call if you bought $200k of stock & it went down 45%
