I wouldn’t say direct hire is less competition. It really means the hiring manger can be more selective. but still it’s a good way for civil servants and the public to get a position.

Thank you, applied for a DH job listing several weeks ago and yesterday received an email stating that I was eligible for the position. Now just waiting to hear the next process from this point.
