Stihl’s WORST chainsaw | Stihl MS-180

Stihl MS 180 arguably the worst chainsaw ever made.

My MS 180 is a perfect companion to my 036. I don't need a big heavy saw to cut up fallen branches and 4" trees.

Well, if it was tuned properly and had a sharp chain that would make a difference. Don't matter if It's a 572 or A. Six six one if The chain is not sharp, it aint gonna cut.

Nonsense. I’ve been feeding my 30000 btu woodstove for over 10 years with a Stihl ms180. You just have to let the saw cut at less than full load, and do the prescribed maintenance.
I run real gasoline and use stihl parts. All I’ve replaced is a clutch, bars and chains, and normal tune ups. (Plug, filters, and last week, I put a new choke shaft in because it was not fully closing, due to slot wear from using it for so long. It’s is a great little saw. MS180cbe.

Fatten it up and sharpen that chain and you will be good to go.

just because it has a 16" bar doesn't mean it's going to fly through it. a 180 is home owner power not lumber jack power

I chopped down a big tree with my ms180 and it worked perfectly, no problems whatsoever. All i did was let the weight of the saw with a little bit of pressure rip through the tree. No complaints there and it didn't sound like this one in the video

The ms180 was ment to have a 14" bar( at least mine is, it is a stihl mini boss 180c). I got mine for free so no complaints from me

I love mine. It is great for limbing and pruning. I just wish I hadn't got the EZ Start model. I always seem to crank on it a few times before remembering it's an ez start.

I’m not a tree guy but I do have a landscape business and from time to time I have customers with trees or huge limbs down. Just cut one up today about this size maybe a little bigger and this thing worked great. I did upgrade the chain to a copperhead, I thank. Works way better then the stihl chain that comes on it

Rubbish, that is a great homeowner saw for for people that have NO IDEA what they are doing with a chainsaw.

I do like my ms250 though. Little work and it ripps for a small saw!
