Unboxing the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G, a budget smartphone boasting a 50MP camera, mostly respectable specs and a price under £200. While the performance and gaming creds are a bit whiffy on the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G, this affordable phone could be a worthy alternative if money is tight.

That camera tech can capture some reasonably natural looking pics if you're working with decent lighting. In lower and softer light sadly you'll get noisy pics, while there's no 4K video option. Likewise, the Dimensity chipset with just 4GB RAM isn't good enough. The Samsung Galaxy A15 5G stumbles when using some camera modes, struggles with many apps and can only manage some light gaming.

Still, on the positive side, the Samsung A15 5G offers some features you won't find on the Galaxy S24. Memory card support and a headphone jack are two examples. Plus you've got excellent battery life and a proper decent AMOLED screen. Oh, but only a mono speaker. And none of that AI shenanigans.

So if you're after a budget phone under £200 (just), the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G is worth considering alongside the Poco phones and other recent rivals.

I've never understood why fingerprint scanners in the power button is considered a lower quality option. They work better every single time over under screen and they are much more convenient to reach and use

I can't believe how no expandable storage has become the default for $1000 flagship phones. Glad at least the smaller devices are still going strong in that regard.

Coming from an s10e, it's absolutely awesome. Especially for cell coverage. Performance is a side grade for gaming but for day to day its a ton better and the screen is a ton brighter and I get 5g everywhere now. So much better, and plenty of software updates for the next few years!

150euros, banger battery, big display, jack, sd card..literalt everything most of the people need...and if it breaks you just get another one. You can replace it 10 times + before it gets to a single S24 or iphone15 price..insanity

You forgot to mention 4 Android updates and 5 years of security patches for Samsung a15. For example OnePlus 12r offers 3 OS and 4 years. And budget Chinese phones offer 1 OS and 3 years of patches.

The camera is kind of amazing for the price. This is going to sell for around 150 or under most the time. This phone is for taking pictures of your friends and your lunch in daylight. It seems succeed at that.
