Fun fact: there is like a real upside down Paris underground where homeless people transformed parts into living space. Saw a documentary, it's super fascinating! They use the old miners entrances with upgraded ventilation system made from discarded stuff. And you can basically walk by one if their entrances and don't see it! They're well hidden to prevent the police from finding out.

I've never understood why tourists would want to visit a grave.

It wasn’t scary at all. We went on Halloween. It’s sobering when you count all the skulls and think of the person who had the same worries as us and now they’re forgotten like we all will be one day. But it’s arranged very artistically. The trenches from WW1 and the graveyards, which stretched over such a large amount of land were more upsetting. I think I will always be haunted by the sight of all those young men and boys in their graves. I think because their ages and names were on their gravestones that it was more real. I don’t really know why it feels different. Maybe because they died in war and most of these people died from natural causes.

There is a story of a huge tomb there that has a weird grate entrance on the inside of the tomb. A homeless man made it in and fell through, found another grate in the second level, fell through, and upon falling into the third level, found a weird being or person that was well over 8 foot tall and a floor full of bones and skulls not held by a grave. Theres a police report in this incident as well so it is documented.

I live in paris for 5year so every week end we was going in catacomb, nothing scaring, is, just amazing, we was pass by passage was uncelled but care we was going with a friend who was knew the catacomb really well, always with a map, and yes we pass by place where it was squeleton.
