Hey guys! Been reading through the comments and I appreciate you all letting me know about the Dock-A-Tot. I DEFINITELY know that it is not for sleep, just for lounging. I am an absolute FREAK about everything, even with my cats, so TRUST I would NEVER do anything even slightly without research first. If he is in the dock-a-tot he will be supervised right next to us, and if he falls asleep I will transfer him to a safe sleep space. I work from home, so I imagine 100% of the day I will be staring at his little face and putting a mirror under his nose to make sure hes breathing lol - If i am working, daddy Zack will have the little bug. I got the dock-a-tot for those "we're sitting on the couch and baby is sitting next to us" moments. He won't be in the dockatot in his snoo, crib or anywhere unsupervised and certainly not for unsupervised sleep :)

Am I the only one that watches her videos and immediately feels like a surge of positive vibes and relaxation? I can't be.

seeing kristi freak out over baby clothes after she thought she’d never be a mom, is the most wholesome thing and she deserves the world

I just had my daughter a few months ago and let me just tell you and anybody interested- forget all those people who try and tell you “they’ll only live in zipper onesies” or “don’t bother buying cute postpartum clothes or robes, you won’t care what you look like or have showerd” f*ck that shit. Even the zipper onesies have downfalls. If you want to put shirts and overalls and other stuff on your baby. DO IT. BUY IT. ENJOY IT. Take the pictures, have a million outfit changes. Yes they make messes and yes you will be a new kind of tired but it is not as negative and as boring as people try to make it just to make conversation and offer unsolicited advice.

“Little BUTTONS on his OVERALLS for when he’s out picking CARROTS.” Only a mom would think of something like that. 😂

“I bought 6 years worth of 0-3 month...”

“I can’t believe I’m going to have a chiiilldd.”

First of all, I never thought I’d hear you saying all of this, and that makes me so thrilled for you.

Second, I definitely said the same on both counts and so many more. It’s NORMAL ❤️

Third, you’re definitely keeping H&M in business and I’m sure when he outgrows the clothes and you gift/donate some of them, whoever receives them will be so thankful for your generosity. You’re amazing, mama. You’re going to kill this parenthood thing.

For future reference:
There is literally a 10hr video on YouTube of a fan noise...it saved my life when I was on vacation. Slept like a baby despite not having a fan.

Think of it this way: if you bought "too much" clothing, you can donate lots of things to charities and shelters. It's a win win! You get the fun of shopping for all the cutest stuff you want, plus you bring joy to people who didn't have that opportunity!

*Drinking game*: every time Kristy says "I'm sorry" when she's showing the outfits

*AND YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BE SORRY FOR! WE ARE ALL SO PROUD OF YOU*

I haven’t had a newborn in 8 years, but the one thing I whole heartedly suggest is having one container of formula on deck, regardless of whether you plan on breastfeeding. I had plans to breastfeed exclusively for as long as possible and while I was at the hospital he latched just fine and the nurses were cheering me on, we were doing a great job. But when I got home a couple of nights in, I noticed him getting exhausted every feeding. He also was losing weight rapidly. I decided to pump to see what I was producing and 20 minutes of pumping gave only the tiniest bit of milk. I happened to have a little can of formula that was given to me free to try out and I gave it to him and he thrived. As it turns out the only thing my body produced was colostrum and nothing more. I totally understand the desire to exclusively breastfeed but I cannot suggest it enough to have a little bit of backup on hand!❤️

I’m a pediatric ICU nurse and the reason we don’t typically recommend things like the smart sock or the scales is because often times parents don’t know what is normal and what is ominous. For example, it’s completely normal for newborn babies to briefly drop their HR or oxygen when upset (diaper changes, feeding, being unswaddled, etc.) but parents may get anxious when they see this. It’s also completely normal for babies to lose weight, and rapid weight gain is also concerning. If it gives you peace of mind that’s awesome, but I say don’t worry too much about the metrics as it can often make people more anxious!

so this suggestion might be a little obvious or it could be a "Why didn't I think of that?" moment. But, get a mesh laundry bag to wash baby socks and other tiny clothing items in. it keeps them from getting lost among everything else.
