With the recent political turmoil in Bihar which led to the ouster of the ruling NDA government, questions have begun to rise around the upcoming 2024 general elections. The flip flop of Nitish Kumar from NDA to the Mahagathbandhan have given spark to speculations of the 8-time Bihar CM becoming the prime challenger to PM Narendra Modi in 2024. However, with the likes of Mamata Banerjee, Rahul Gandhi & Arvind Kejriwal in fray, the Opposition seems to be anything but united at present.

Amidst the political drama, here's a gist of the Mood Of The Nation analysed by Rahul Kanwal and Rajdeep Sardesai with a focus on what would happen if Lok Sabha elections were held tomorrow and who can be the prime challenger to PM Modi for the post of PM.

Reasons for pro incumbency for the BJP even after 9 yrs
1. BJP delivers point by point as mentioned in their election manifesto.
2. They do immediate course correction if they face backlash from a genuine section like the roll back of farm bill.
3 Lack of serious opposition in the country.
4 The BJP actually follows true secularism. Like equality for all irrespective of religion. Be it in the form of schemes for all irrespective of the religion or reprimanding Nupur Sharma after her remarks on prophet. Whereas the opposition resorts to appeasement politics in the name of secularism. This was once again proved by the way the non BJP ruled states handled the communal riots after the Nupur Sharma controversy.
5. Selfishness of the opposition parties especially in the non BJP ruled states where they have not yet decreased the VAT on petrol whereas the centre once decreased the excise duty on petrol. So when the opposition holds the centre for the rise inflation they must also do their bit to decrease the VAT on fuel prices to ease life of the common people.
6. Leaders like Mamata and her national aspirations to become a face against PM Modi in 2024 are now completely demolished after the recovery of mountain cash in SSC scam. Similarly Gandhi's are also facing the national herald case. So the image of the prominent opposition parties are completely tarnished & the common people don't trust them anymore.

The BIG picture is RAJDEEP Picture.
RAJDEEP does not even see that the 24 opposition parties could not even put up a strong opposition candidate to fight President and VP Post.
Modi got in Smt Murmu and opposition lost steam.
Then opposition then made blunder for VP poll and failed to even put a challenging candidate to BJP.

Demonetization actually had an unintended beneficial side effect, it spurred digital payment system which came very handy during Covid. Also it pushed large number of people in formal, digital economy which made it easy for government to do direct benefit transfers.

Mamata has headache because of her own party men due to greedyness and nepotism.

Nitish did not ditch BJP because of a fear of Maharashtra model. The central agencies raid on PFI has dented his secular image. He is the one who has call Isarat Jahan as " Bihar ki Beti". He had in 2012 taken a delegation to Pakistan to study their model, what model only He can disclose. With a favorable govt the PFI will gain strength in Bihar. Centre will have to keep an eagles eyes on Bihar.

Rajdeep dreams nicely for congress. He is blind how SP BSP lost in UP win 2017 without a local leader while opposition had Rahul Akhikesh Mayawati Priyanka .
Time for Nitesh to go . Nitesh on fear of losing Muslim votes he dumped BJP for his Muslim survival.
