How to Loom Knit a Bottle Cozy (DIY Tutorial)

LOOM: The loom I use in this project is a 24-peg L gauge round loom.

YARN: The yarn I use here is a bulky weight yarn (size #5) and I am using 2 strands at the same time to get an sturdy knitting. For this project, I used 50g (1.75Oz) approx. of a yarn called Rosas Crafts Cunde Mogollon 7.

I watched it first then made it once finished.
The handle though I did not loom knit I crocheted it instead.

When you begin is the yarn pre measured and folded in half? I’m confused about how to start, why there are two strands and not just one…

So far only one of the three I’ve tried to make has worked out … I have the same problem on the two failures — after reattaching the base and doing the round of knit and round of purl, my successive rounds of knit become tighter and tighter until by round 3, I have to give up — the loop is too tight to get it over the peg. Can barely get it off the loom; I think I had to CUT the first failure off the loom. What am I doing wrong??

why is everything a #5 yarn? I have a ton of #4 but it's rare I get a #5 now a days. :(
