NUMBER 10 - VATSA BAY AKA VATSA BEACH KEFALONIA
Starting us off, at number 10 we have Vatsa Beach which is located in Vatsa Bay. Located 9km from Lixouri and 5km from X I beach. This beach is on a beautiful part of the island. Vatsa Bay is beautiful. It is a small bay, tucked away, in what feels like the Caribbean. The beach side taverna is in the perfect setting for lunch and cold refreshments. The location is very rustic, peaceful and tranquil. The waters are shallow and a small river runs into the sea here. It's a great place for swimming and relaxing and of course, catching some rays!
NUMBER 9 - XI BEACH, KEFALONIA
At number 9, we have XI Beach. Xi Beach is most famous for its easy to walk on, soft, red sands. It is unlike any other on the island. The name XI, comes from a nearby cave which was formed into the shape of an X. This beach can get quite busy. If you a family, there is usually play equipment on the beach and there are lots of water sporting activities to be getting on with to make the most of your day. There are quite a few places to wine and dine throughout the day. It's good to note that the sunbeds here are not free so its a good idea to bring along some cash or a towel to bath on!
NUMBER 8 - EMPLISI BEACH, KEFALONIA
At number 8, we have Emplisi beach. Emplisi beach is located approximately 50km from the islands capital, Argostoli and around 2km from Fiskardo. Due to its close proximity to Fiskardo and its stunning natural beauty, Emplisi beach is extremely popular in the busy summer months. It is a gorgeous, picturesque beach with white pebbles and a natural green backdrop. The waters here are crystal clear and great for snorkelling. Refreshments from cafes are available all day long and there is also great car parking near by if you are simply visiting for the day.
NUMBER 7 - LOURDAS BEACH
At number 7 we have Lourdas Beach. also known as, Lourdata Beach, by some of the locals. Lourdas Beach is located approximately 17km south east of Argostoli, the capital. The area of Lourdata is a calm and relaxing beach resort on the southern side of Kefalonia. The beach has white sand and pebbles and there are lots of sun loungers and umbrellas to make your stay at this beach, that little bit more enjoyable. The sea is shallow and warm in the summer months and there are showers on hand to wash away the sands before you head off to one of the beach side tavernas offering great views and an abundance of Greek cuisine and ice cold refreshments. This resort definitely has those holiday, relaxation, get away from life kind of vibes!
NUMBER 6 - MAKRIS GIALOS BEACH, KEFALONIA
At number 6 we have Macris Gialos Beach which is located just 4km south of the islands capital, Argostoli. Macris Gialos is an extremely beautiful and extremely popular beach. It has soft golden sands and there are many water sports activities to partake in. Many tourists who have visited this beach have said they have spotted turtles swimming in the sea and nesting their eggs on the sands. There are plenty of sun loungers and VIP areas on the beach and you can soak up the sun while watching ships and yachts sail by. This stunning beach also has palm trees, great refreshments served on the beach itself, all day long and you should not miss the most fabulous sunset which you can watch from the beach or one of the bars!
NUMBER 5 - FOKI BEACH
At number 5 we have Foki Beach near Fiscardo. Again, Foki Beach is stunningly beautiful, it has a luscious green backdrop and crystal clear shimmering waters. Foki Beach has a natural tranquil setting and is a wonderful place to relax, contemplate and watch the hours go by. Foki Beach has white pebbles which reflect the water in the sea beautifully, giving the waters a sensational shade of turquoise. This is also a great place to throw down the anchor and take a swim if your sailing nearby in the area. We highly recommend visiting this beach!
