GIRLLL! Mad respect honestly, my first day of 8th grade I was literally wearing a tye die tshirt and jeans, barely brushed my hair, and didn't even think of makeup- I was quite literally just surviving, not thriving.

For everyone going into their first year of high school!

I was as nervous as you, nervous about the bus, finding my classes etc. Just like the basic things to worry about. But some things that helped

- bring earbuds if you ride the bus, very helpful, starts your morning off with a bang if you listen to music, podcast or watch your favorite show
- if you didn't have a map beforehand most likely you can get a map at the front desk that you can route out your classes
- if you know there is someone there that you know then try to find them or meet up
- dress casual but fitting because everyone goes all out on the first day then the rest of the year nobody cares but it's still good to have a first impression
-if you are scared of making friends, your first period, find someone that looks around your age. Talk to them, try to speak conversation because they are most likely as scared as you
-don't buy too much supplies beforehand unless you already got a list given to you. Just get a folder, a notebook, and a few writing utensils till you have your syllabus for each class
- when it comes to studying or a huge amount of work, ask for extra credit if you know you might be late for am assignment
- ^ middle school says high school won't tolerate late work but most of the time they don't care of are too lazy to remember so when you turn it in a lot of the time they count it for something
- studying once again, find a study busy for your class, ask to bring textbooks home, use quizlet or games, flash cards. I know writing things down in my own words and reading it over on my time has helped so much. And if it's vocab memorize it in sections because remebering it all at once takes a lot longer but remember, stick to what works for you
- when it comes to big tests, before then, don't miss out on asking for after school tutoring or lessons to go over, they will probably tell you what to study for and really study with you during class but honestly they will make it super hard so just warning you that, but in reality the tests are easier. Like I SUCKED at biology and got a 5 on the test and idk if it's everywhere but where I am 5 is the highest
