Olive this was a great idea! One video of the shelf. Our subsequent comments & then a second video of try a chapter. I'd also love a video this fall of your favorite Russian titles & a discussion of the plots (without spoilers). Please include Russian novels that don't work out for you as well. Another idea for that video would be different editions of those Russian novels which have beautiful, exquisite or engaging covers. I know Alice often has beautiful UK versions on her book vlog for contemporary fiction. Perhaps there are Russian clsssics that also have beautiful UK covers that you already have in your collection. Not a bad ratio! People of the Book is one I may have to keep my eye on in the future, I remember my mom and grandma reading it when it first came out. Too bad the fantasy didn't quite do it for you.Looking forward to seeing what's on shelf #2!!

People of the Book is so good. Having been to Sarajevo it means so much to me. I also loved An Object of Beauty but I listened to it on audio. I does have some beautiful pictures and alot of info on early American artists. I thought it was worth the time.

Your French accent was perfect ✨ I really think The Little Prince is one of my favourite books of all time (although it needs a good re-read) and it is SO misunderstood when people recommend it for children I just smh so hard. Hi Olive. I have a commute for work so I often listen to audiobooks that I can’t read. It’s been helpful. If I don’t enjoy the book, I don’t feel like I wasted my time because I was just sitting in my car anyway.

Funnily I was sitting in my library and looking at my bookshelves and was asking myself why I have so much fiction when I prefer nonfiction! I think I will have to pick fiction books off my shelves and try my own try a chapter project.

I’ve added the first book to my tbr list, already read the last one, liked it but it wouldn’t be a reread and I’d unhaul the others too. I think this is a great series and I can’t wait for the other shelves💕
