Chase Elliott: No retaliation against Hamlin, just ‘unfortunate circumstances’

Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott says he did not intentionally wreck Denny Hamlin during the Coca-Cola 600. The two cars were involved in a Lap 186 wreck.

NASCAR's most popular driver is allowed to right rear hook another driver as retaliation. Even on a straightaway in front of half the field.

I'm an Elliott fan and I do agree that it was intentional. It was just funny that it was Hamlin out of all people 😂

That part of the track is tricky with 3 wide racing. People assume it was intentional because he just got stuffed in the wall by someone he was rivals with like 6 years ago. It could have been a racing incident, it could have been intentional. I'm not going to jump to conclusions.

“Tear the right sides off”? You tore the right side off when you right hooked him into the wall. That was completely intentional. NASCAR needs to suspend Chase, for consistency and for the fact that Elliot right hooked him into the wall, they don’t allow that, or at least they like to think they don’t wether they enforce it or not.

Look at the footage....as the car turns down, the RR is leaving huge black marks on the track....it is broken.

I’m a huge Chase Elliott fan, but this is by far totally out of line I don’t know if the doctors have him on pain medication you can even hear it in his crew chiefs voice NASCAR you’re unfortunately going to have to penalize him. I know he’s your favorite driver but I can’t let my children see this kind of behavior from their favorite driver and think it’s OK. Everybody makes mistakes he’s just gonna have to be punished this time. Thank you NASCAR we love you.

Unfortunate nascar made more road course races so his win totals would increase. But then came the 45 car. He deserves a race suspension.
